Subframe trolley

I devised a platform to help with the removal of the rear subframe and differential unit from my Audi TT project car.

This consists of a porter’s trolley with an old Black & Decker workmate fitted to the top. The parallelogram mechanism provides a horizontal platform of variable height, so that the heavy sub-system to be removed can be supported at all times and lowered under control (using some wooden wedges which are gradually withdrawn).

This worked surprisingly well and managed also to clear the various body structures at the rear of the vehicle. Now all I need do is remove all that rust and epoxy coat the remaining metalwork.
