My wife likes camping (who knows why). I made this modification to her camp stove, so that it can heat a relatively narrow cylindrical cooking vessel.
Naturally, I used some old bits of Meccano to extend the stupidly short OEM arms. This approach still allows the arms to slide around circumferentially, when the whole thing is packed up.
It will be interesting to see how well they stand up to being repeatedly placed in the burning gas flow. So far, only a small amount of oxidation has occurred.
