Once again, Meccano comes to the rescue. I was sick of chasing my sockets around a box in search of the right size.
I therefore used a strip of this great material to act as a spine, with 1/2″ drives on one side and 3/8″ drive sockets on the other. These are all attached in order of socket size.
To make attachment and detachment easy, each socket is held on the spine by a twisted section of garden wire. The wire goes through the socket and simply bends over its edge.
This allows me to attach and detach sockets quickly, using only one (oil-blackened) hand.
