I drew the original as a gift for my daughter’s music teacher who had done a particularly good job…So good that she was headhunted by a different school.
Anyway, despite having about two hours in which to complete the work, it does seem to capture something of her character -as well as being a good likeness. As with all portraits that ‘work’, there was a moment when I made a couple of small changes and suddenly the resemblance emerged.
